Milpitas Police Officers deliver memorial Christmas Tree Ornaments to New York City Police Officers

Milpitas Police Officers deliver memorial Christmas Tree Ornaments to
the families of assassinated New York City Police Officers

Date: January 4, 2015

On December 20th, 2014, Officer Rafael Ramos and Officer Wenjian Liu of the New York Police Department (84th Precinct) were assassinated while sitting in their parked patrol car in Brooklyn, New York. To honor the lives and service of these men, the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP), Silicon Valley, Lodge 52, humbly added two more ornaments in the names of Officer Ramos and Officer Liu to the Fallen Officer Memorial Tree at San Jose’s Christmas in the Park.

“FOP, Lodge 52, started the Fallen Officers Memorial Tree in 2013 in order to honor the men and women in blue who have given their lives protecting the lives of others”, stated FOP Director Eric Emmanuele. The ornaments are on display through the holiday season in order to remind the public of the number of fallen officers every year; those who gave the ultimate sacrifice and will no longer share the holidays with their families. After the holidays, the ornaments are sent to the families of the fallen officers.

On behalf of FOP Lodge 52, we thank the Milpitas Police Officers
Association and the Milpitas Police Department for allowing Milpitas Police
Sergeant Dave Morris and Officer Jason Doll to attend the funeral service
for Officer Ramos on December 27th in Queens, New York. Sgt. Morris and
Ofc. Doll hand delivered the personalized ornaments for Officer Ramos and
Officer Lui to the men and women of the 84th Precinct.

A special thank you must also be given to those who sponsored the 2014
Fallen Officer Memorial Tree - Sumers and Sons Electrical in Milpitas,
members of the community, law enforcement agencies and Milpitas
councilmembers.
